4-H ON PARADE

It's that time of year again when 4-H members have the opportunity to show off their projects and
achievements. We're inviting you to show your support of rural youth in your area at 4-H on
Parade. 4-H on Parade is held at Stampede Park in Calgary from Thursday, May 30, 2024, to Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Calgary Stockyards Strathmore Ltd. is proud to be sponsoring 4-H on Parade by conducting the 4-H Steer and Sheep sales in the Agriculture Building, Victoria Pavilion on Sunday, June 2, 2024. The

Sheep sale will begin at 10:00 am sharp, directly followed by the Steer sale at approximately 12:00pm.

Please feel free to drop by the Nutrien Western Event Centre to view the Sheep ahead of time, and also the Steers which will be located in the Agriculture Barn. Parking information and map are below on this page. 

As in years past, there will be NO RESALE of any animal in an effort to have everyone home in good time.

Some of the benefits of supporting this 4-H sale include:
*The buyer of the Grand and Reserve steer/lamb at the largest 4-H show in Western Canada
*Buying the best premium beef/lamb for your Business/Person
*Will be supporting the rural leaders of tomorrow
 *4-H member thank-you letter and invitation to their Club’s Year-end Banquet
 

If you decide to purchase a 4-H steer/lamb, your options are:
1. Ship it to a packer for resale and receive a cheque for market price
2. Butcher it for your freezer – please specify on your invoice where you would like your purchase
sent to (e.g. Foothills Custom Meat Processors, Pure Country Meats, Red Deer Lake Meat
Processing)
 3.Take the animal home (if you are taking the animal home, you should consider adding livestock
insurance for the projected time you plan to keep the animal.)

The 4-H Club members in your area would be very happy to talk with you about your support. I
encourage you to visit with the members and leaders at/or prior to the sale.
